As promised, more about the World Cup. For the next few days, I'll be Profiling the major contenders, today, we're going to do Spain.
Spain have world class players in almost every position but lack quality in one vital spot - centre half. Pique and Puyol are good, but not up with the elite, and this along with Capdevilla at left back could prove their downfall.
Goalkeepers well, Casillas, Valdez and Reina and probably the strongest trio of any country at the finals
Midfield, again, Xavi, Iniesta, Fabregas, Alonso, Silva, Mata, Cazorla-they have a squad the equal of anyone else in the world.
Strikers. Torres and Villa. Possibly the best pairing in world football, not sure about the depth beneath those two though.
My prediction: Runners Up.
