It's so long to one of my favourite actors, dieing after a long battle with cancer, aged 74.
Most people will remember him for Easy Rider or Blue Velvet, but my favourite roles of his were his Texan hitman Lyle in Red Rock West, and his cameo as Christian Slater's dad in True Romance. Check them out if you can.
